Marking 20 years since Michael Jordan and his fellow compatriots on the Dream Team dazzled on and off the courts in Barcelona, Nike presents a re-release of the Air Jordan VII with Olympic flare. Designed by legendary footwear designer, Tinker Hatfield, the Air Jordan VII was released in early 1992 in white/metallic gold-obsidian-true red and saw His Airness take home the gold while sporting the number “9″ – as referenced on the back of the sneaker. The Air Jordan VII Retro will release on Saturday, July 21 for $160 USD.

Dave White designs another Air Jordan using the same model the Retro 1 to set the All-Star weekend off. Using the artists signature strokes and splash he commented “the absolute intent was to make something that actually looked animated and dynamic, explosive and alive even when standing still. I wanted the shoe to almost look like it had been dipped in paint and is exploding with energy.” You can see these releasing on February 11th.

The Doernbecher Children’s Hospital and Nike have collaborated every year since 2007. As a part of the Doernbecher Freestyle program, an Air Jordan has dropped each year – AJ 2 in 2007, AJ 1 in 2008, AJ 6 in 2009, and the AJ 3 in 2010.
It was confirmed back in June that the Air Jordan IV would be a part of the Doernbecher offering this year. Now, we get our first look at the kicks.
These Jordans sport a crazy black/royal blue/teal/neon green colorway with a black suede upper. The upper is also home to an all-over arrow print, blue mesh, and blue contrast stitching with hits of teal on the wings and neon green on the laces and midsole. As if that weren’t crazy enough, the Superman logo makes an appearance on the tongue and the kicks are finished off with an icy outsole.
An exact release date is unknown, but the Doernbecher Air Jordan IV will drop around December, just in time for the holidays.
